Challenge
A new SRB regulatory reporting deadline collided with a multi-year SAP finance transformation. Previous attempts to deliver regulatory data had repeatedly failed, resulting in fines, while inconsistent data standards left critical data effectively stranded across 30,000+ spreadsheets and manual processes.
Approach
We deployed a team with direct experience of near-identical challenges, replacing a stalled ‘Water-Scrum-Fall’ approach with true Agile delivery. We stood up a dedicated Finance Data Quality function and built a Target Operating Model to consolidate four external providers into one streamlined, client-led team.
Outcome
Client met their SRB deadline: we delivered regulatory data on time, a first for the client, while reducing delivery time and cost by 85% and improving data quality. The data foundations built also laid the groundwork for the client’s subsequent BCBS239 programme.
Internal team upskilled, processes documented, and programme IP fully transitioned to the Group Data Office, with no ongoing dependency on Azof.
